For school and All Saint’s break, our house was a happy chaotic mess as my sister and her family visited from the province and stayed with us for a couple of days.
My niece and nephew are way older than my kids but my kids always look forward to spending time with them.
One weekend, we planned to bring them to Lake Pandin in Laguna. While cruising along Malvar Batangas, the universe, apparently had another plan for us.
Our car suddenly wouldn’t accelerate and I panicked thinking about all the sudden unintended acceleration news I have read in the past.
Fortunately, it happened few meters away from Petron KM 75. We parked and waited for the relief car…… for five hours!
Petron at the time had an ongoing Lakbay Alalay activation and their “Best Day at Petron” jingle was blaring and on repeat so you can imagine listening to the same song for 5 freaking hours!
I cannot count how many breads, juices and candies the kids got at their Treats store out of boredom and hunger.
We were a total of 5 adults and 4 kids so imagine our surprise when a 5 seater relief car arrived. Nevertheless, we are thankful for the relief car.
South’s legendary traffic going back to Manila is another story but…. we created new memories nevertheless.
Now everytime the kids see a Petron station, they would say “Worst Day at Petron” !
