Roast Duck is my ultimate ultimate indulgence and has been one of the primary reasons why Hong Kong has been a favorite destination.
We always looked forward to a trip at the Bowrington Market where Halal roast duck is served more than a trip to a shopping mall. Two kilos of our luggage would be roast duck chopped and cramped into a plastic container so we can still feast on it in Manila.
My 4-year old daughter had her first taste of duck , particularly duck skin, at Choi Garden recently and since then has been my toughest competition in terms of getting the best skin part.
One weekend, we made a wrong turn and missed the entrance to the parking of SM Aura so we kept going straight until Upper Mckinley.
We were about to exit when I saw HK Tai Koo Roast. I remember reading about it somewhere so we decided to give it a try.
It’s right beside 7-11 and of the last establishments along that strip. There weren’t that much people when we went there maybe because it was around 4 in the afternoon so we really did not expect much.
We ordered duck noodles for the kids and duck legs for the adults plus an extra order of kailan.
When the orders came and had our first bite… oh…. my… ! I dont know if I’ m just hungry but it was seriously good. Even the kids who are very very picky with the food had a lot. We even ordered additional half duck and that too was wiped out.
It’s not cheap and not steep either. We paid less than 1,500 for the 4 of us. After we paid, the waiter gave us a food panda card for delivery and my son asked me to keep it so we can order 😂
