Choosing the perfect hotel depends on priorities. For example, when I was single, where to stay got the least from my travel budget. I’d rather spend it on shopping.
Having kids is a different story. We need the hotel to be near a train station, near the attraction we want to go and most importantly should have a bath tub 🛀. My kids can stay in the hotel all day long and won’t mind provided there’s a tub 😅
There were 3 locations we were considering: myeongdong, namdaemun and dongdaemun.
For having 24 hour shopping, we decided to look for hotels within dongdaemun and the hotel that has a bath tub and fits our budget was the summit hotel.
We booked via agoda as we have in our past travels.
I made sure to declare all the adults and kids as I do not want to be hassled by potential extra charges. I got a room that has 2 queen beds.
We had a good view from our small window. To our right was Dongdaemun area and to the left was the N Tower. On a clear day we could see the cable car going up and down the mountain.
We were a mere 5 minute walk from Dongdaemun Design Plaza by the late great Zaha Hadid and a few minutes away from Dongdaemun History subway station.
The room was comfortable and clean. Housekeeping kept the room nice and tidy everyday.
Considering all of those plusses, the hotel was a reasonable PHP 5,000 per night.
Would recommend this place if you want the quieter portion of seoul with round the clock shopping.
